"Four Times Square area hotel owners and operators have agreed to modify their establishments to settle a federal lawsuit alleging they violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan says the hotels are: the Moderne; the Ameritania; the Amsterdam Court, and the Radio City Suites. The case against a fifth hotel is pending.
The settlement filed Monday resulted from a federal compliance review of 49 Theater District hotels started in 2005. Investigators say the hotels lacked barrier-free lobbies and rooms as well as accessible registration counters and public restrooms."
