Diabetes & The Supreme Court Nominee

Does having someone with a disability in a prominent position of society (regardless of which disability that person has) make society look positive at disabilities?

With Type 1 diabetes — once called juvenile diabetes because it usually is diagnosed in children or young adults — the body mistakenly attacks and destroys the pancreas cells that produce insulin."
